AceDraft for Teams Onboarding: Your Organisation and First Batch

Onboarding is two steps: name your organisation, then buy your first batch of seats. I haven't watched it run, and I didn't buy anything. I read its code on 19 September 2026, and everything below is what the code says. The second step involves a live payment, so I'll be plain about where money changes hands.

Key takeaways

  • Step one needs only an organisation name. The Logo URL is optional.
  • Step two lists batch tiers, each with seats, validity and free exports per user, and a Buy button opens a real checkout.
  • No Buy button works until the batch has a name.
  • Limitation: prices come from the server at load time, so I state none here.

Prerequisites. An enterprise admin account. Only admins can open this page, and the dashboard sends a new admin here.

Step one: your organisation

The page asks for an Organisation name, with "Acme University" as the example, and an optional Logo URL. The name needs at least two characters. Press Continue and the page confirms "Organisation ready. Now choose a batch." and moves to step two.

If your organisation already exists, the page skips this step. It checks when it loads, fills the name in from what's saved, and opens step two directly. So coming back later doesn't make you create anything twice.

Step two: your first batch

Before you pick a tier you have to name the batch, and the page says you can add more batches any time. The Batch name example is "Class of 2026 — CS". An empty name shows "Enter a batch name to continue" and stops the purchase. That check exists because an earlier version quietly made up a name and opened checkout anyway, according to a code comment.

You'll want the tier details, but you won't find any numbers here. Each tier card shows the tier code, a price, the number of seats, months of validity and free exports per user. I'm not quoting any of those values. They're loaded from the server, so they can change, and a price I wrote here could go stale. Two price cases are worth knowing. A price marked "Indicative pricing, confirmed at checkout" is an estimate, and a tier with no price says "Contact us to purchase this tier" and its Buy button is disabled.

Self-service stops at the Custom card, which the page describes as 200+ seats with negotiated pricing and free-credit brackets for large cohorts. Contact us opens a short form for your name, work email and phone, and Send enquiry submits it. The page then says the team will reach out shortly. I haven't checked how that enquiry is followed up.

Where the money moves

Buy opens a checkout, and the button reads "Opening checkout…" while it does. That's a real payment. If you close the checkout window, the page treats it as your choice and doesn't show an error. If the payment goes through, you see "Batch created." and land on the dashboard. I stopped at reading this code and never opened a checkout.

Who onboarding is for

Use it once, as the admin setting up a new organisation, with two names ready: the organisation's and your first batch's.

Skip it when you want a second batch. Go to the Batches page for that, which has the same tier cards.
